Kemeralti Market

The historical Kemeralti neighborhood in the Konak region is considered one of the most famous ancient and ancient local markets in Izmir. It was built in the seventeenth century directly behind the port and expanded in subsequent centuries. The original shops were made of wood or bricks, and some were covered with domes. The name Kemeralti (meaning under the arches) comes from the fact that there are streets covered with arches above all the shops in the market, besides the small shops, plus there are many inns as well.
