Koimesis Church

Koimesis Church is one of the most important monuments of tourist interest in the city of Iznik, as it attracts large numbers of tourists wishing to explore what remains of it. The church is located in the area that previously formed the Christian quarter in the city, but the bulk of its features have disappeared, including this church, which was destroyed by the Greeks when they occupied Turkey in the early twentieth century.
