La Contraparada viewpoint

The view of La Contraparada is also called "Azod Mayor", and it was originally a dam built between the ninth and tenth centuries by the Muslims, and it was working to control the waters of the Segura River through the so-called Huerta de Murcia, and this was done after the construction of the Arab military fortress of Murcia in In 825 by order of Abderramán II on the former Romano-Visigoth settlements, the Roman infrastructure of the irrigation canals of Vega del Segura was rebuilt and expanded.
