Name of the place
Lake Saint Moritz
Lake Saint Moritz
This lake is named after the town of St. Moritz in which it is located, and it is a medium-sized lake with an area of 0.78 square kilometres. It is frozen most of the year, and during that period many activities are held, including polo matches, and the participants use a red ball that is larger and lighter than that used in regular polo matches, in order to be seen more clearly on the ice. The ice is very thick in the winter and bears the weight of cars, horses and people. This lake is said to be the place where the new sport of skiing was invented.
