Home to the richest collection of jewels in the Vatican, the Lapidari Gallery or Galleria Lapidaria is located in the southern part of the long corridor that was created to connect the Vatican Palace with the Belvedere Palace, formerly called the Ambulacrum Ulliana from the name of Pope Julius II (1503-1523) or " Bramante Corridor" in reference to the name of the architect who designed it. The view here is divided into thematic sections corresponding to individual walls or groups of walls.
