Lazaretto

Close to Corfu is the small island of Lazareto, an island of national pride as it is where a large number of Greek prisoners who defended their country during World War II against the German armies are buried. Do not hesitate to share with the residents of Corfu the activities they hold in honor of the memory of these fighters, if the date of your visit coincides with the end of May, as the island is decorated with bouquets of roses that increase the beauty of the few remaining monuments.
