Leper's Tower
Built on the ruins of an ancient Roman tower, the Tower Libere takes its name from a novel written by Xavier de Maestre published in 1811 which tells the story of a man named Pierre Bernard Guasco, a native of Onelia who was imprisoned there from 1773 to 1803. This story inspired Lepres to emerge from the city of Aosta And he built the tower. The tower was restored by the Regional Office of Antiquities in Piedmont and Liguria led by Alfredo Andrade in 1890. The place attracts tourists greatly in the city with the aim of getting to know the ancient Roman architectural style during the nineteenth century. It is worth noting that the area includes a group of food stalls, souvenir shops and handicrafts.
