Lighthouse of Marken
The Marken Lighthouse was built in 1839 on the Dutch peninsula Marken. It is also called Paard van Marken, meaning the Marken Horse. It was listed as a national monument in 1970. The lighthouse is about 16 meters high and consists of a stunning white structure with red lighting. It includes a bell and a trumpet used by ships to sail during times of fog, and tourists can visit the lighthouse to see it from the inside, take pictures with it, and enjoy the picturesque view surrounding it.
