Machairas Monastery

In the forests of the Macaires Mountains lies a monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is considered one of the most famous landmarks on the island, and one of the most distinguished! When you visit it, you will be able to see the original cells in the basement, stables and storage areas. It also includes a collection of books, ancient manuscripts, icons and many other religious artworks, knowing that to this day the monks still live and worship in it.
