Margaret Bridge
Margaret Bridge
Margaret Bridge is the second oldest public bridge in Budapest, and it was designed by French engineer Emile Gouin and built between 1872 and 1876. This bridge leads across Margaret Island. The reason for the bridge's unusual geometry lies in the fact that the small span to connect Margaret Island had been factored into the original design, but was not built until two decades later due to lack of funds; It was under complete reconstruction from 2009-2011, which included the addition of railings, decorative lights, and a bike path.
