Description of the place
If you want to fully embrace nature, take a short cruise to this picturesque island. This protected landscape free of predators has become open to the public more widely in recent years. Some believe the name of the island is after one of the daughters of the island's explorer. A lighthouse was built at the southwestern tip of the island in 1866, the first lighthouse in New Zealand.
