Memorial Concentration Camp Braunschweig Schillstrasse

On May 7, 2000, the Braunschweig-Schelstrass Memorial Concentration Camp was inaugurated. The center, in its concept developed by Sigrid Sigurdsson, consists of a tiered base and so-called open archives that invite Braunschweig residents as well as local organisations, associations and institutions to deposit documents, ideas and personal memorabilia there; More than 70 library funds have been assembled for the archives, and selected texts from these archives are displayed on metal panels attached to the wall that forms the boundary of the memorial centre.
