Metrology Church

The Metrology Church is located behind the high walls on Fodina Street in the heart of the famous Balat neighborhood in Istanbul. It belongs to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. It is estimated that it was built in the same period as Hagia Sophia. It previously contained the works of the ancient Greek physicist and well-known mathematician Archimedes. Hence its name, which means "science of measurement".
