Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library
The library began operating in 1904, and it housed 33,000 volumes of material drawn from the city's Census Bureau and consisted mainly of social science books. There were demographic, statistical, administrative and social books. Ervin Szabó, who was the first director of the library, had an important role in shaping the national sociology, continually developing the legacy material of a modern group of sociologists and social sciences.
