Monument to the Lovers
This historical monument represents the carving of the hands of "Ibn Zaydun" and the poet "Walada" in the square known as El Campo Santo de los Martires in Cordoba, Spain in the year 1971 AD, to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the love story of the great Andalusian poet Ibn Zaydun and Princess Wallada, who is also a famous poet in Andalusia, and the monument is part of the historic center of Cordoba, which was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1996 AD. Visitors can read the marble archaeological verses of each poet, which appear in both Castilian and Arabic.
