Mosque of Ibn Tulun

The Tulunid Mosque is located in Ahmed Ibn Tulun Square in the Al-Sayeda Zainab neighborhood of the southern region of Cairo. It is one of the famous ancient mosques in Cairo and one of the largest mosques in Egypt in general. Until now, it has retained its original condition compared to other mosques. The mosque is classified as an architectural masterpiece that was creative in its design in terms of symmetrical decorations in a remarkable way. It is a model in the history of Islamic architecture in Egypt. The mosque is also evidence of the flourishing of Islamic civilization in Egypt during the Tulunid era.
