Mount Karaca is a huge shield volcano with a height of 1957 meters and is located in southeastern Turkey near the Syrian border. It has been active since the Pliocene era. The Max Planck Institute for Breeding Research in Cologne discovered the original genetic type of 68 contemporary types of grain that are still growing. As a wild plant on the slopes of Mount Karaca, this mountain also offers amazing landscapes and unique views of the surrounding areas.
