Mrs Macquarie's Chair
Mrs McCurry's Chair Memorial is located in the heart of Sydney, overlooking bustling harbor vistas including Harbor Bridge and Fort Dennison and surrounded by the enchanting Royal Botanic Garden. It is an exposed sandstone rock cut in the shape of a bench, on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour, hand-carved by artists in 1810 AD, for Elizabeth Macquarie, wife of the city's general, in her honour.
