Municipal Museum of Faro

The Faro Municipal Museum is a historical museum that was established in 1894 in the Algarve region. Its archaeological collection includes the Roman Trails Gallery in which the Roman period is represented in the Algarve, starting from the southwestern writing (Iron Age) through Latin writings and the ocean room mosaics, while the Islamic room displays A collection of objects from the daily life of Muslims. Visitors can also see two other permanent exhibitions that include ancient painting (from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century).
