Munroe Island

Munroe Island is a hidden pearl in the backwaters of India, and one of the 8 islands belonging to the city of Kollam in the state of Kerala. The islands are separated from each other by small channels and lagoons. Monroe Island is located about 27 km from the city of Kollam, and can be reached by the many speed boats scattered on the coast of the city. The island was named after its founder, British Colonel John Monroe. The island is dotted with picturesque natural features, tropical forests and many beautiful streams.
