This museum was established by royal order in 1844, as the Museum of Fine Arts moved to various buildings in the city until 1862. This building was built in the late sixteenth century, as it was changed in the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, and the last change was in the twentieth century under Overseen by Enrique Romero de Torres, son and successor of Romero Barros, since that time the museum has displayed a selection of works of art. Cordovan art from the 15th to the 21st centuries is represented through the exhibition room, including oil paintings, statues and murals. The museum also hosts some temporary exhibitions, which include various drawings and prints from the museum's collection.
