Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza
The museum offers visitors an overview of art dating back to the period between the 13th century and the late 20th century. Among the nearly a thousand works on display, visitors can contemplate the major periods and pictorial schools of Western art such as the Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque and Rococo, and Art Nouveau such as Pop. The museum also contains works from some of the neighboring countries, such as Impressionism and German Expressionism, the pioneering experimental movements of the early twentieth century. In addition, it houses an important collection of valuable American paintings that cannot be found in any other European institution other than this museum.
