National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona
The National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona gives you an insight into the Roman city through its architecture, sculptures and tools used in the daily lives of the citizens of ancient Tarraco, the capital of the most important Roman province in Spain. This museum is the oldest archaeological museum in Catalonia; It was founded during the first half of the nineteenth century with collections dating back to the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, although the bulk of the collection comes from excavations carried out in the last one hundred and fifty years, as a result of the construction of the modern port and the extraordinary urban growth of the city.
