Description of the place
The Auerschots Heidi National Forest is located in a moving sandy area, which is partly covered with pine trees, and the area is partly used as a military training field in the Netherlands, where units of the Royal Netherlands Army, the Royal Netherlands Air Force and the Royal Netherlands Navy are trained, while parts of it have been classified as a nature reserve. It is not possible to enter the reserve for free, but you can still come to enjoy nature and take a walk, or watch the military exercises carried out by the soldiers.
