Description of the place
The Old Town Hall of Amarante is located in the old convent buildings to the right of the church in the market square in downtown Amarante and houses a small municipal museum on the first floor displaying a collection of artifacts, sculptures and modern paintings, including paintings by Portuguese cubist Amadeo de Souza Cardoso ( Amadeo de Souza Cardoso) born near Amarante.
