Orto Botanico

The Botanical Garden of the University of Palermo is one of the most important Italian academic institutions. It is considered a huge open-air museum, and many plant species grow in the garden that differ in terms of origin and plant species, including tropical and subtropical. The garden consists of two main sections, the first section includes a group of tall trees and colorful flowers. The other section is a large greenhouse in which about 2,731 species of plants grow. Regarding the history of the garden, it was established in 1806 by Giovanni De Brignole.
