The most famous and largest zoo in the city of Osnabruck, it was opened during the summer of 1936 AD, and it extends over a wide area of about 23.5 hectares (0.235 km 2). The park is home to nearly 300 species of wild animals and birds, which number about 3,000 animals, including lions, wild bears, giraffes, leopards, turtles, ostriches, penguins, and others. The park also includes many water ponds and fish ponds.
