Paddington Reservoir Gardens
Paddington Reservoir Gardens
public park, included in the National Heritage List, located in the suburb of Paddington, east of Sydney. It was designed by Edward Bell, and the construction process took two years, from 1864 to 1866, when at that time this garden was a water reservoir, which was a vital source of water for the rapidly increasing population in the nineteenth century, until 1899, and it was restored in its current form in 2009, to be a combination of the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. When you visit this park, you can take a stroll in the green gardens and wide paths, as there are plenty of places to sit and rest, and see the stone arches above a water pond, which give the garden an exceptional splendor and beauty.
