The Bahni archaeological area was discovered in the city of Hidalgo in 1988 AD, and it is located in the northwestern part of the city, in the highest part of the plateau where the semi-desert landscape dominates the Mezquital Valley, and to reach this place you have to pass through the semi-desert lands, under the scorching sun. The area of this area is about three hectares, where the rich and high-class residents of the region lived on the tops of the hills, and the ordinary city dwellers lived under the hills they cultivated. The constructions in the Bahni area date back to the legendary era, and the discovered area is the large square or the Acropolis where the Pyramid of the Sun is located. When you enter the site, the main structure dating back to 650 AD stands out, with dimensions of 17 meters on each side and a calculated height of 10 meters. There is also another pyramid that was built two centuries ago. The originality of its architecture, which differs from the style used in that era, made it an interesting place.
