Description of the place
Paphos Castle has origins dating back to the Byzantine period, and it was used in the past as a fortress, prison, and warehouse. It has a wonderful architectural design, and its entrance is adorned with a white marble slab that was rebuilt by the Turkish ruler of Cyprus, "Ahmed Pasha"; Many people are keen to visit it to enjoy the beautiful history and celebrate the Paphos Aphrodite Cultural Festival. Besides this castle, there is a wonderful statue called "Sol Alter" designed to honor the Goddess of Love.
