Description of the place
Pookode Lake is a picturesque freshwater lake in the Wayanad district of Kerala. It is one of the main tourist destinations in the region, because it is located in the heart of evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is the highest lake in Kerala. There are many distinctive fish species in the lake, and therefore fishing enthusiasts come to it from everywhere.
