Princess Diana Memorial Fountain
It is a memorial and fountain in London to Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in a car accident in 1997. It was designed to express Diana's beautiful spirit and love for children. The fountain is located in the southwest corner of Hyde Park, just south of the Serpentine Lake and east of the Serpentine Gallery. Its foundation stone was laid in September 2003 and was officially opened on July 6, 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II. The ceremony was also attended by Diana's younger brother Charles Spencer, her ex-husband Prince Charles, her sons William and Harry, her ex-father-in-law Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and her two sisters Lady Jane Philwells and Mrs. Sarah McCorodall. The Opening Ceremony brought Windsor and Spencers together for the first time in 7 years.
