Queen Augusta Victoria's Garden is a German landscape paradise in Freiburg, emerging from the former castle of Stephanie, Grand Duchess of Baden, and founded by the Portuguese Queen Auguste Viktoria von Hohenzollern. A new castle was built between 1933 and 1934 on what is now the Hohenzollern property; The estate was then auctioned in 1993 by Werner Semmler, who then bought back the former plots, added more land and built a new landscaped park with six ponds in the style of an English landscape garden according to his own plans.
