Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden
Opened in 1992, the Chiang Mai Botanical Garden is a center for promoting research and biodiversity, allowing visitors to see the most diverse natural flora that Thailand has to offer. Nestled in a valley surrounded by rainforests, there are a whole host of different areas to visit. Visitors can wander around the flower gardens, banana trail or enter one of the many different greenhouses. Another highlight of the gardens is a 400-meter covered walkway that hangs above the forest canopy, giving a natural perspective in the air. The entire parks are huge and you will need transportation if you want to see everything in one day, and you will be given a free map to help you get around. Outside the botanical garden there is a café, gift shop and parking area if you prefer to walk rather than drive around the gardens.
