Description of the place
The Queen Si Suryutai National Monument is located north of the city near the Chao Phraya River, in an area known as Makham Yeung Plain, which is believed to be the actual site where the Siamese Queen Suryutai was killed in a heroic battle. In this monument, the queen disguises herself as a man to protect herself and leads an army on the back of an elephant to fight a battle to save her husband and family.
