Ria Formosa Natural Park

Ria Formosa is one of the most surprising places in the Algarve region, not only for the diversity of its landscapes but also thanks to its unique location, and it was recently chosen as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. It is a unique coastal lagoon that is constantly changing due to the constant movement of winds and currents. It was classified as a natural park in 1987 and has an area of about 18,000 hectares, which is protected from the sea by 5 barrier islands and two peninsulas.
