Russian Museum

The Russian Museum and Garden is located in an area in Jericho called Joseph's Land, which is owned by Russia. The museum focuses on several topics, including Russia in the Holy Land, to include photographic materials and copies of items in the Hermitage Museum in Russia. It also includes the subject of Byzantine Jericho, based on excavations from the first to the eighteenth centuries BC. And the Islamic and Roman eras, including coins found during excavations at the site. Finally, the museum's garden contains the huge Sycamore tree, which is believed to be more than two thousand years old and mentioned in the Bible.
