Saint Anthony's Church
St. Anthony's Church, known in Turkish as St. Antoine's Church, is the largest Roman Catholic church in Istanbul, built to serve the Italian community living in the city. The church was distinguished by an imposing building of red brick, which was originally built on this site in 1725 AD, but was demolished in the early twentieth century, to make way for a tram line. However, the church was rebuilt and completed in 1912 AD. It stands today as a fine example of the Italian neo-Gothic style, attracting tourists from all over the world.
