Built in the early 20th century - in 1912 - in honor of Alexander II's son Tsarevich Nikolai, who died in Nice after failing to recover from tuberculosis, this Russian cathedral is a beautiful architectural masterpiece. The church is owned by the Russian Federation, so it is affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe.
