The San Sebastian municipal building was built between 1882 and 1887, and it is an important architectural landmark in the region, and it enjoys an excellent location between Concha Beach and the old quarter, and next to the wonderful Alderdy Eder Gardens, and it is strange that it was originally a cabaret, and later became a site for battles between nationalists and Republicans during the Spanish Civil War, and in the summer of 1936 a revolt between armed citizens and General Franco's forces took place here, and bullet holes can still be found in the distinctive facade.
