Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Puig

The Shrine of Our Lady of El Puig is located in Pollenca, north of Mallorca. It is distinguished by a monastery that is more than 800 years old and is located on the top of a mountain called Puig de Maria. The monastery mainly consists of a church and a fortified tower. It was home to many nuns and monks over the centuries and is now used as a hostel. But it is still used for pilgrimage as well, and there is also a beautiful restaurant at the top that serves traditional Mallorcan food. The monastery is accessed through a wooded path for an hour, and some consider it a difficult path, so it is advised to take the necessary precautions for that.
