Santa Barbara Castle

Santa Barbara Castle is located on the top of Mount Benacantel, approximately 200 meters above sea level, and has become a symbol of the city of Alicante, and from the top you can enjoy exceptional views of the city, the port, the Mediterranean coast and the Gulf of Alicante, and the castle witnessed many different civilizations that inhabited this lands, and archaeological remains from the Bronze, Iberian and Roman ages have been found on its slopes, but the castle's origin dates back to the late ninth century with Muslim rule.
