Santa Faz Monastery
The Monastery of Santa Fez or the Monastery of the Holy Face is located five kilometers from the city center of Alicante in the neighborhood of the same name. It was built in the Baroque style, and inside it there is an artifact brought from the Vatican in the fifteenth century which, according to popular tradition, is About the cloth with which Veronica wiped the blood-covered face of Christ on her way to Calvary. And year after year, on the second Thursday after Easter, thousands of people come to this monastery to perform the so-called Pilgrimage of the Holy Face, making it the second most important pilgrimage in Spain.
