Sant'Alessandro Gate
The Porta Sant'Alessandro Gate is one of the four gates that reach the upper part of the city of Bergamo. The gate takes its name from the Sant'Alessandro Cathedral, which was destroyed to build the famous Venetian walls in 1561. It is located in the western part of the walls. This gate was built to be used as a passage. During the war, it was demolished, rebuilt and restored several times.
