Sao Domingos Church

The Church of São Domingos is located on top of a hill a few steps away from the Church of São Gonzalo. It is a relatively new church built by the Dominican Order in 1725. It is distinguished by its Baroque style, bas-reliefs and interiors decorated with a group of gilded wood carvings and polychrome wooden images of Christ, Mary Magdalene and John Evangelist, this church also contains a museum dedicated to displaying sacred art with vestments, ceremonial items, painting and decorative arts.
