Description of the place
The Schwarzsee, or "Black Lake" in Arabic, is located at the bottom of the Matterhorn. It is a medium-sized lake with an area of 0.5 hectares. Its black color is due to the reflection of the huge Matterhorn on it. It is one of the most visited lakes in Zermatt, and a place where visitors come to relax and spend quality time with their friends and families. Wooden huts can be rented near the lake for a nice holiday.
