Shakespeare and Company
The name of this library originally goes back to a library founded by the American Sylvia Beach in 1919, which was called the Shakespeare Library, which was closed in 1941 due to the German occupation of Paris and never opened again. As for the current library, its name was originally Le Mistral Library, which was founded by the American George Whitman in 1951, but he renamed it with its current name in honor of Sylvia Beach and the 400th birthday of Shakespeare. Today, this library is one of the most important libraries in the place, which sells many old and antique books. It also sells new and used books and also operates as a free reading library which is open to people all day long. If you are a fan of reading, do not hesitate to visit the place and take a look at the many wonderful books in it.
