Description of the place
Somnath Temple, also known as Somantha Temple or Deo Patan, is a Hindu temple located in Gujarat. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus and is believed to be the first of the twelve shrines in the country. The temple was distinguished by a different architectural design of gilded domes and spacious internal and external courtyards that included statues of the most famous Hindu deities.
