Description of the place
The Sidi Youssef Dey Mosque is known as the "Bashmakia", and it is one of the religious monuments dating back to the beginnings of the seventeenth century AD. It is of great importance as it is the first Ottoman Turkish Hanafi mosque to be built in Tunisia. It is also distinguished by its minaret built on a square topped by an octagonal tower and its paneled pulpit. marble and its beautiful Islamic decorations, and also includes the tomb of Yusuf Dey.
