Sopot Fort
One of the most important historical monuments that reflects the succession of ages on the city of Sopot is the Sopot Fortress, where traces of human settlement in the Sopot region date back to the Stone Age, and ancient tombs, spearheads, pottery, food remains, and even Arab coins were discovered during excavations in the region. However, the most significant regional archaeological find was the discovery of the remains of this fortified hilltop settlement, in central Sopot, believed to have been used between the 8th and 14th centuries. The fort was rebuilt in the year 2000 AD, and today it includes an archaeological museum that includes a permanent exhibition entitled "The Fort in Sopot", in addition to temporary displays.
